Digging Up my OM-D

Haris Abdul Rahman September 4, 2015

In the last 6 months, I had been using mainly my Sony Alpha-7 and Leica system. Both my Fuji and OM-D had fallen on the wayside as I accumulated them in the last 5 years or so. On the 26th, there was a Fuji walk planned in town, and I planned to take my X-Pro ratehr than X-T1 for that event.

While dusting off the equipment and cleaning the Fuji lenses, I decided to clean up the OM-D as well. The last time I used it was in KK and I must say, the ergonomic had always been excellent, but the resolution was never that good. The Fuji was better!

I decided to do some tweaking and shot a few frames on RAW. It definitely brought back the thoughts of why I picked up the camera in the first place. It was smooth and if I were to tone down the gadgetry and let the shooting flow, keeping things nice and tidy, it performed rather well.

In the forums, there had been talk about how good the dynamic range of the sensor is shooting in monochrome. Well worth a shot I thought for street work.

Leica is still king but it doesn't hurt to use the other system from time to time ....
